1. SEVERE CYCLONIC STORM LAILA [CAT-1]

DURATION: May 17- May 21

PEAK INTENSITY: 100km/h, 986hpa[mbar]

Formation: SE of Chennai coasts.

Direction: W-NW

Landfall: Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.


2. CYCLONIC STORM BANDU [TROPICAL STORM]

DURATION: May 19- May 23

PEAK INTENSITY: 75km/h, 994hpa[mbar]

Formation: Somalian coasts.

Landfall: Yemen and Somalia.


Notably, Arabian sea has been active during 2010.


3. VERY SEVERE CYCLONIC STORM PHET [CAT-4]

DURATION: May 30- Jun 7

PEAK INTENSITY: 155km/h, 964hpa[mbar]

Formation: SE ARB, SW of Mumbai coasts.

Landfall: Gulf of Oman.


4. DEPRESSION BOB 02

DURATION: Oct 7- Oct 9

PEAK INTENSITY: 45km/h, 996hpa[mbar]

Formation: NW BOB, near Vishakhapatinam coasts.

Interestingly, this depression made three landfalls.

[a] Paradip, Odisha.

[b] Kolkata, West Bengal.

[c] Bangladesh.

Direction: NW


5. DEEP DEPRESSION BOB 03

DURATION: Oct 13- Oct 16

PEAK INTENSITY: 55km/h, 995hpa[mbar]

Formation: North BOB, East of Vishakhapatinam coasts.

Landfall: Gopalpur, Odisha.


6. EXTREMELY SEVERE CYCLONIC STORM GIRI [CAT-4]

DURATION: Oct 20- Oct 23

PEAK INTENSITY: 195km/h, 950hpa[mbar]

Formation: NE BOB, SW of Myanmar coasts.

Landfall: Kyaukphyu, Arakan, Myanmar.


7. SEVERE CYCLONIC STORM JAL [TROPICAL STORM]

DURATION: Nov 1- Nov 8

PEAK INTENSITY: 110km/h, 988hpa[mbar]

Formation: South China Sea

Direction: W-NW

Landfall: North Chennai [Ennore] to Nellore.


8. DEPRESSION BOB 06

DURATION: Dec 7- Dec 8

PEAK INTENSITY: 45km/h, 1000hpa[mbar]

Formation: SW BOB, NE of Chennai coasts.

Direction: NW

Landfall: Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh.
